Research Support
Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute: Building Capacity for PCOR/CER in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities The overarching goal of this proposal is to build capacity to engage people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as partners in the full spectrum of patient centered outcomes research (PCOR) conducted in their practice-based research network and across the state of Georgia.
National Curriculum Initiative in Developmental Medicine The National Curriculum Initiative in Developmental Medicine (NCIDM) supports multiple medical schools to implement curriculum about health care for people with intellectual disabilities through a multi-year partnership between the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) and Special Olympics International (SOI), with resources from a cooperative agreement funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The goal of the NCIDM project is to provide training to medical students in the field of developmental medicine—the care of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) across the lifespan.
Cleveland Clinic Caregiver Catalyst Award: Building Bridges to Improve Care of Persons with Developmental Disabilities This proposal aims to: (1) Establish infrastructure in the Cleveland Clinic to empower health care professionals to provide more comprehensive, cost-effective and efficient care to this population and (2) Develop collaborative ongoing relationships between Cleveland Clinic and community organizations and agencies that serve persons with developmental disabilities organizations.
Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative- CWRU: Practice-Based Research Network Core Facility This pilot funding through the Practice-based Research Network Core Facility supported the establishment of DD-PBRN, a practice-based research network devoted to improving health care in persons with developmental disabilities.
Medicine Institute- Cleveland Clinic: Learning Collaborative In Developmental Medicine This funded a community-based participatory Learning Collaborative in Developmental Medicine comprised of clinicians, disabilities professionals, advocates, and self-advocates who shared their knowledge, experience and ideas to improve the health care of persons with developmental disabilities receiving care through the Cleveland Clinic Health System.
